Thinking and Providing Biblical and GraceCentered Theological Resources for the Church

The inward area is the first place of loss of true Christian life, of true spirituality, and the outward sinful act is the result. Francis Schaeffer

The purpose of this blog is…

A place for thoughts, research and insights for leading the Church to grow in maturity and faith for God’s Glory!

Why Acts29.org?

Because it is a cool domain name? No…well, yes…and…this is about what the Church is and should be doing now.

If you know the Bible, you will say, hey there are only 28 chapters in the Book of Acts! Yes…Acts, chapters 1 to 28 are where the Church gets its call, start, and purpose as well as the narratives and happenings of the Apostles and the first few decades of God’s Fruitful Bride. Acts is also about God using His people for the spread of the Kingdom of God on earth. Additionally, Acts is about the challenges, perils, opportunities, and wonders of servanthood as well as a template to what we may face and can do. The “29th” part/chapter is us, the Church at work today with our collective call and empowerment to expand His people, the Church, as Christ is still at work in and through us. We are the next chapter of the story that is still being told, and we as Christians are the continuation of the drama of redemption.

The question is, what will you do with this incredible opportunity of expanding the Gospel so others can know and grow in Christ?

Acts29.org is about continuing the work of doing Church.

We seek to do right with our best due diligence in honoring the precepts of our Lord Jesus Christ. But, sometimes, what we are called to gets misplaced, convoluted, and distorted. So then, what we should be doing gets lost and moves away from what we are doing. Thus, too many of us Church Leaders get it wrong! We seek pride and faulty trends or apathy and dysfunction and end up flopping about like a fish out of water while thinking we are swimming strong. Therefore, we seek to take a prayful stance, a repentant heart, and seek biblical understanding so we can do a better job at getting this most important call and duty right. We seek to be faithful, obedient, and fruitful in what He gives and what we have to do so we can be better at it.

It is our intention to use this blog as a sounding board for the Schaeffer Institute (www.churchleadership.org ), to post some of our research findings on what the Church is up to, and seek what the Bible has to say on leadership and Church development. In addition, we are learning and bringing our and your experiences on the matter to a place for your insights, experiences, reflections, comments, and reactions…

The question we propose to the Church as a whole now is, “Now What?”

Our Beliefs

Statement of Faith

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 14:26-15:26). The Triune God has created humanity in His own image and has called us to manifest and reflect personal holiness through trust and obedience to His Word and commandments.

Statement of Core Values

Through His Word and the Holy Spirit, we strive to bring the gift of a life that is fully surrendered to God. We approach all of our work and life under God’s control and leadership.

Did you know that it is blatantly evil to twist God’s truths to fit our whims and rationalize our sin. It creates a bad “who” and a bad “how we are.” Do not allow this in your church! We have to be willing to prevent, discipline, and even kick out the manipulative and deceptive people in our churches.

· The Real Issues!

· Patterns that are Visible!

· Opportunities for Growth!

We will fill this Blog with solid research, insightful articles, practical curriculums, essays, tools, and resources to help you prepare your church to grow in Christ and glorify Him! Our articles and studies have been carefully, exegetically prepared with careful, steadfast, inductive analysis and word studies of God’s most precious Word. We do not add anything to God’s Word that is not already there nor do we take away from insights and ideas that are there.

These blog entrees will be the real deal, what God may have to say to us. These are offered to you so you may understand what is in His Word and in your church, to appreciate, comprehend, and to be challenged to grow richer and deeper in your relationship to Christ and be better used for Church Leadership Development and then to others around you.

It is our intention to use this blog as a sounding board for the Schaeffer Institute, to post some of our research findings on what is the Church universal and your church is up too,

  1. May this particular work be blessed to His glory and honor.

  2. I am serving God and His people in Pakistan. And I came to acquainted with Pastor Mike Gunn few years back and during that period he visited three to four times and we have organized boot camps and other ministerial events.

But now he has started his own ministry “Antioch Network”and Acts 29 is never contacted us for the work they were doing in Pakistan.

I would like to hear your response and vision for the mission field of Pakistan. And hope that in coming years you will appoint any person who can jointly work with us to win Pakistan and continue the ACTS 29 mission.

    • I know Pastor Mike Gunn, last I heard he was here: http://www.somacommunities.org/ … but we are not affiliated with his organization. They “use” our name, even though we have used it for 50+ years… Keep in mind the bad economy has devastated most ministries in the US. Giving is the lowest it has ever been and we can’t pay our bills or visit you all overseas, even after we cut all there is to cut…

Anyway, yes our parent org http://www.intothyword.org/ in S/C Asia and PK, been so for years training pastors, our vision is to equip pastors with proper Biblical resources to know and teach the Bible and how to lead and manage the church. But with extreme budget woes, no $ coming in and the floods destroyed all of our efforts over there…there is not much we can do now. You may use our online resources all you want… Please let us keep each other in prayer so Christ is glorified through this! be blessed Richard, Phil 1:6

  3. Thanks brethren for your another serious effort in building up of the Lord’s churches according to the New testament pattern with the gospel of Grace. I am very much like-minded minister (local missionary involving in church planting, teaching and training ministry etc. with firm conviction of Doctrines of grace) ) from Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. Came to know through my minister-friend, Atlanta, GA. Our only hope in this ministry is LJC’s statement ” I will build my church, gates of Hades shall not overpower it”. May God bless the ministry designed for His glory alone. – in Christ with Christians love. Muralee
    P.S>. Keep in touch.
